Romantic Gifts

Let there be light!

Scented candles are the best, especially a country garden or cinnamon fragrance. When lit the scent floats through the whole room and lingers to remind her of you. I also read that vanilla is a very romantic aroma as it somehow stirs memories of love and comfort. It may be a fire hazard but there is nothing cozier than a candlelit evening snuggling with your hubby.

You can find candles and incense at Somethingforthewickend.co.uk. They offer aromatherapy candles, as well as colour changing candles. They also have other interesting items such as tree resin, whatever that is for, and Himalayan salt crystals. My favourite is the dinner candles made in Denmark. Another cute site is Deelights.co.uk which offers chocoholic candles and three wick candles. They also have seasonal candles for Halloween and the winter holidays.

Putting aside the unsightly and somewhat disturbing scene of the Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner hanging from that huge chandelier in War of the Roses, I believe a chandelier would be an imaginative and original gift. Women love chandeliers. Not only because they are beautiful but also because I think that most women have a childhood dream of one day owning one. To me, they look like really big diamonds and I used to hang old chandelier pieces from my ears as a child pretending that they were real diamond earrings. Funny, but true. crystal-corner.co.uk. The above sites also offer candle sconces, those in combination with a chandelier are amazing!
